Such attempt in Sanskrit gave all the students and teachers of the school a surprising experience about and encouraged to use the mother of all languages in their day to day life. .

Students of Class VIII showcased a beautiful skit ‘ के बूद्धिमत्तमा:’  which was enjoyed by everyone. Their clear pronunciation and natural presentation proved that it can be a again a language of general people in India.

Sr. Principal Dr Neelima Prakash motivated the students to learn this language as this helps in sharpening the brain & all our ancient books and scriptures are primarily written in this language. Speaking on this occasion she said that Sanskrit Diwas was first celebrated on the Shrawan Purnima Tithi in the year 1969 with the aim of increasing Sanskrit’s popularity. Even though Sanskrit is known as the first Indian language which developed several other branches like Tamil, Hindi, etc., unfortunately the use of Sanskrit in our day to day life has become extremely limited. While we all by heart the verses of out important shlokas and mantras and pray to the Hindu gods in Sanskrit, its role in our life outside worship has become non-existent. According to her World Sanskrit Day was started with the aim of changing this practice and making Sanskrit a common language to converse in, and years later, linguists continue to strive to make this dream a reality.

Vice Principal Ms Indu Kaushik appreciated the children who had put up the show in Sanskrit language . She opined that Sanskrit is the sacred language of Hindiusm and also the language used for philosophical discourses of Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism as well as Hinduism. It was the Lingua Franca of India at a point of time. Ms Kaushik informed that ‘ Sanskrit Diwas’  is observed on the Purnima of the month of Shravan as per the traditional Hindu calendar.

Rajiv Kumar , Manager of Lions Public School said that the idea to celebrate Sanskrit Day is a unique one, as this language because of its purity and essential difficulty to be spoken as a common language was slowly dying a natural death. He gave logic that its importance was phenomenal, as it is the mother of all Indian languages and the very first of the ancient languages whose trait is found in India. He opined that the main idea of celebrating the Sanskrit Day is to spread general awareness about the importance of Sanskrit among common people. To let common people and the younger generation know about the rich cultural heritage and tradition of Sanskrit , the language which can give people a chance to read the original Vedas as well as so many other texts of importance in the original Devnagari or Sanskrit language in which it is written. It is the main source to know Indian culture and traditions well.

On this occasion, Principal Ms Renu Verma, Co-Ordinator Ms Dinesh Arya were also present and they applauded student’s efforts. All Hindi  as well as Sanskrit teachers co-operated to make the show successful.
