New Delhi : Union Minister for Human Resource Development Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ chaired the national workshop on 5- year vision document and national education policy in New Delhi today. He addressed the Education Secretaries and other senior officials from the States and Union Territories (UTs) in this regard. While addressing the participants, the Minister emphasised on the importance of education for the development of the nation. He requested all States & UTs to hold consultations within their States and provide their tentative comments on the policy document by 31st July 2019. New Delhi : Education is a subject in the concurrent list of the Constitution and majority of the schools are under the control of the respective State Governments. Under the Integrated scheme for School Education - Samagra Shiksha, effective from the year 2018-19, there is a provision for supporting States and UTs on interventions related to Guidance and Counselling in schools. Funds are proposed to be provided to the States/UTs, in the current financial year 2019-20 in order to encourage teachers to function as the first level counsellors in schools. Also, State-specific projects are funded to address the issues of adolescent children. The information was given by the Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today

New Delhi : Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar will inaugurate the 17th World Sanskrit Conference to be held at Vancouver, Canada from 9th July to 13th July, 2018. More than 500 scholars and delegates from over 40 countries will be participating in this conference and exchange their knowledge by presenting papers on various subjects followed by discussions from amongst the members.
