New Delhi: The Punjab government on Wednesday announced the imposition of curfew in the entire state from 9 am to 5 am from next morning till 30 April. The government, led by Captain Amarinder Singh, also banned political meetings across the state until further notice.

It is noteworthy that Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh had warned of stringent restrictions earlier. He had said that if the situation of Kovid-19 in the state does not improve in the next week, then he will have to take tough decisions. They had said that it would be reviewed again on 8 April, and that further action could be decided if COVID-19 proliferation was uncontrolled.

Amid the increase in Kovid-19 cases, several states have announced a ban. Lockdown, weekend lockdown, night curfew are also included to prevent the spread of COVID-19 virus.

 

Before Punjab, the government of Delhi and Jharkhand had also announced curfew on Tuesday from 10 am to 5 am. The order issued by the Punjab government is implemented with immediate effect and will remain in effect till 30 April.
