New Delhi : Department of Higher Education has prepared actionable points on Fit India Programme and forwarded to all its Institutions. The details of actionable points for implementation of Fit India in Higher Education Institutes are as follows: Implementation of policies and practices: Institutions to adopt and implement policies and practices that motivate students and staffs to participate actively in health and wellness activities. In this regard, following activities may be incorporated: Pledging by students, faculty and staff in all universities/institutions for making all efforts to maintain the physical and mental fitness and do some sports activities regularly. New Delhi : Union Minister for Human Resource Development Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ chaired the national workshop on 5- year vision document and national education policy in New Delhi today. He addressed the Education Secretaries and other senior officials from the States and Union Territories (UTs) in this regard. While addressing the participants, the Minister emphasised on the importance of education for the development of the nation. He requested all States & UTs to hold consultations within their States and provide their tentative comments on the policy document by 31st July 2019. New Delhi : The National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) conducts periodic national surveys to assess learning achievement of children in Classes – III, V, VIII and X. The National Achievement Survey (NAS) 2017 was held on 13th November for assessing the competencies developed by the children at the grade levels III, V and VIII from across 701 districts covering all the 36 States and UTs and covered 22 lakh students from 1.10 lakh schools. NAS (2017) was administered with districts as the unit of reporting in different subject areas such as languages, mathematics, EVS/Science and Social Sciences in the Government and Government aided schools. New Delhi : The Central Government has introduced a 4-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) for pre-service training, to offer graduation with certain specializations built into it namely Primary and Secondary Education. In this regard, a Gazette Notification dated 29th March, 2019 has been published and applications have been invited from 3rd June, 2019. Further, for in-service training of teachers, school heads and other functionaries, at the elementary level, approval has been given for an Integrated Teacher Training Programme to be conducted through National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) and National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), in all States and UTs. New Delhi : Giving boost to employment, the Human Resource Development Ministry has cleared the way for appointment of more than 7000 Teachers and other staff in Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. Results for these posts will be declared on 8 July 2019 for which KVS has already completed the examination process. NEW DELHI : University Grants Commission (UGC) has released the list of 24 fake Universities, which are available on its website www.ugc.ac.in. In addition, UGC issues public notice against the unrecognized status of Indian Institute of Planning and Management (IIPM), New Delhi and illegal status of Bio-Chemic Education Grant Commission, Nadia, West Bengal. Bhartiya Shiksha Parishad, Lucknow, UP is also not recognized by the UGC under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956.
