28 Institutions Contributes 38.91 cr to PM Cares Fund

New Delhi :. 28 different Institutions/ Autonomous Organisations/departments of Ministry of HRD have contributed more than 38.91 Crore Rupees to PM CARES Fund to fight against COVID-19. Union Minister of HRD Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ appreciated their efforts for making India strong in fighting with COVID-19. He said that MHRD family is strongly supporting India against fighting with COVID-19. Earlier, Union HRD Minister himself donated his one month salary and one crore rupees from MPLAD funds to PM CARES Fund and appealed to all the Institutions/ Autonomous Organisations under Ministry of HRD to contribute their bit to PM CARES Fund.

Jhajjar:. Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Harsh Vardhan today visited All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Jhajjar to take stock of preparedness to overcome COVID-19. Dr Harsh Vardhan stated that the AIIMS Jhajjar will function as dedicated COVID-19 hospital consisting of 300 bed isolation wards which would ensure prompt care for patients in isolation requiring advanced medical support. NEW DELHI :  Union Minister of Human Resource Development Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank' chaired a meeting with all the Directors of 23 Indian Institutes of Technology through Video Conferencing in New Delhi today . The Minister expressed his desire and directed all the Institutes to take care of the students, faculty and their family members and the contractual staff in the campus and ensure that they are not facing any problem. New Delhi :. Kaamya Karthikeyan, a class VII student of Navy Children School (NCS), Mumbai, became the youngest girl in the world to summit Mt. Aconcagua, the highest peak in South America and outside of Asia.  She summited the mountain peak of 6962 m height on 01 Feb 2020 and unfurled the Indian tricolour. Years of physical and mental preparation alongwith regular participation in adventure sports combined with strong character, helped the young girl in overcoming many administrative hurdles and extreme climbing conditions to achieve this rare feat.

30 Lakhs Applicants Appeared in Admission Test for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas

NEW DELHI :  Admission test for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas for the session 2020-21 was held smoothly in 8252 centres covering 561 districts today. Admission in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) is done at Class VI through Selection Test every year. This is one of the biggest examinations conducted for the selection of students, predominantly from rural areas. Applicant seat ratio for the session 2020-21 is 63:1. According to the Navoday vidyalay Samiti for admission to 48000 seats in Class VI for the session 2020-21, 3046506 candidates, including 46.19% Girls, 19.05% SC, 29.23% ST and 83.91% rural candidates, registered through online mode. In the same test, last year 3010710 candidates had registered out of which 45.2% Girls, 18.13% SC, 27.42% ST and 81.26% were rural candidates.
