New Delhi , 25 June<\/strong> :\u00a0 The defence research and development organization tested fired extended range version of aboriginal developed Pinaka rocket from a Multi-Barrel Rocket Launcher (MBRL). It was tested on 24th and 25th June 2021 at Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur off the coast of Odisha.<\/p>\n Around twenty five pinaka rockets were launched at different ranges. Its range is upto 45 kms for destroying the targets. The flight articles were tracked by instruments including Telemetry, Radar and Electro Optical Tracking System deployed by ITR & Proof and Experimental Establishment (PXE).<\/p>\n The Pune based Armament Research and Development Establishment (ARDE) and High Energy Materials Research Laboratory (HEMRL) has contributed in the development of the rocket system leads to achieve longer range performance. The Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh has congratulated DRDO and the Industry on the successful launch of Enhanced Pinaka Rockets. The secretary, Department of Defense R&D and Chairman DRDO Dr G Satheesh Reddy praised the efforts of the teams involved in the successful trials.<\/p>\n
