\u00a0Gurugram :\u00a0<\/strong> A large number of teachers and students practiced yoga on the occasion of International Yoga Day at SGT University. The program was organized by Faculty of Indian Medical System and Faculty of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences. The United Nations declared 21 June as the International Day of Yoga at the United Nations General Assembly in 2014. This time the theme of the 8th International Day of Yoga is “Yoga for Humanity”.<\/p>\n The program started with the welcome address by Dr. Rajiv Rastogi, Dean of Natural Sciences and Yogic Sciences, followed by lighting of the lamp by all the dignitaries. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. O.P. Kalra, Pro-VC, Prof. Dr. Vikas Dhawan, Pro-VC, Dr. Vinod Sharma, Advisor Dr. Sumer Singh, Dean of Student Welfare Department Dr. Vijay Sharma, Deans of various Faculty, Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff and students were present.<\/p>\n More than 200 people participated in the programme. Shri Rajneesh Yadav conducted the Yoga Protocol session. The session began with a brief introduction to Ashtanga Yoga, combined relaxation exercises, stretching exercises, yogasanas in various asanas, kapalbhati, pranayama and meditation. Dr. Prasanna Savanur, Dean Ayurveda concluded the session with concluding prayer and vote of thanks.<\/p>\n
