A day-long Workshop was Organized to Eradicate Corporal Punishment in all Schools<\/h4>\n

Gurugram, December 6 :\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0On the day of National Child Rights Protection Commission, a day-long workshop was organized to eradicate corporal punishment in private and government schools of Gurugram. In this workshop, the principal and teachers of the government and private schools of the district participated. Sunita Devi, a member of Haryana Child Rights Protection Commission, was also present on this occasion.<\/p>\n

Addressing the principal and teachers present in the workshop, Expert Pravesh\u00a0 Shah, who came from the National Child Rights Protection Commission, said that today’s workshop is aimed at preparing a framework for future with the suggestions of principals and teachers so that schools of the state can implement the guideline . He said that the rights of children must not be violated in schools , it is our responsibility to take care of them. He said that it is our duty to give children a mental and physically healthy environment in the school so that in the future the country can have a bright citizen.<\/p>\n

He said that it is important for the principal and teachers to be aware of physical punishment and mental harassment in school so that they can take necessary steps to eliminate it. In order to end physical and mental harassment at school, necessary instructions have also been issued by the National Child Rights Protection Commission. In the workshop, the Principals were given detailed information about these guidelines. He said that by by punishment fear to keep in discipline is easy but it is very difficult to motivate the children to maintain discipline without fear. In addition, if a teacher discriminate or harass a child of any caste, religion, sect or wealth-poverty\u00a0 \u00a0then the commission has to take action against the concerned teacher. He also said that the Directive\u00a0 have also been issued regarding the Corporate Permanent Management Committee in the schools on behalf of the Government of India.<\/p>\n

In the workshop, the principal and teachers shared their experiences too. Experiences of decisions made by the teachers in different schools during the course of their education and during their discretion\u00a0 were shared with Mr. Shah. Mr. Shah said that a teacher is seen respectfully in the society, it is important in this way that the teachers should be counseling from time to time so that they are not paid by the route. If teachers ever feel that the child is in misery or is walking on the wrong path, then definitely discuss the parents of the children in this regard.<\/p>\n

Sunita Devi, a member of Haryana Child Rights Protection Commission, has said on this occasion that it is the responsibility of the Commission to check the various places on the basis of complaint for the protection of all basic rights of children’s food and living conditions and ensure that Children’s rights are not being violated. The Commission monitors the rights of children and tries to give them a healthy environment.<\/p>\n

In the workshop, District Education Officer Ramkumar Falaswal said that it is necessary for schools to have a School Safety Committee to ensure that there is no reconsideration of untoward incidents in schools, which will give children an environment conducive to study in schools. This committee takes care of the basic rights of children so that they can become good and responsible citizens of the country in the future.<\/p>\n
