Various Teams from Across the Country Participated

Gurugram : School of Law, Ansal University organized 2nd Edition of the Ansal University International Moot Court Competition on 23-25th February. The Competition witnessed the participation of numerous teams from across the country and a Team from Indonesia too. Symbiosis Law School, Pune won the competition with a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 and Government Law College Mumbai got the place of runner up winning a cash prize of Rs. 30,000. In this competition Vaibhav Tiwari of Symbiosis, Pune achieved the award of the Best Speaker-1. The format and aim of this event were applauded by all law experts and guests.
Ansal University provided an opportunity to the law students across the country by oragnising its International Moot Court Competition. It was a great learning event for all participating law students in which many teams exhibited themselves and proved their efficiency as well as expertise in Law practice .
The three days Competition was inaugurated by the chief guest Dr. E.M.S. Natiachappan, former union minister and president, Indian Society of International Law (ISIL). Justice S.N. Dhingra, former Judge, Delhi High Court and Dr. K.N. Chaturvedi, former law secretary, Government of India were also graced the occasion as guest of honour on 23rd February. All experts advocated to increase the frequency of organising such competition in the interest of law students. They were of the opinion that such platform will groom the students by means of their appearance and knowledge in this area indeed .
According to Professor Dr Deepak Miglaani, School of law Ansal University, Gurugram many teams from various states and universities across the country participated in the Competition. A team from Indonesia also came to join and gave a tough fight to other team .
All teams were judged by a committee of renowned law experts like Justice Karpaga Vinayagam, former Chief Justice, Jharkhand High Court, Dr. Aman Hingorani, Senior Partner at Hingorani & Associates, Mr. Matt Sloane, Director, Global Litigation Services, United Lex, Dr. Sunod Jacob, Associate Professor and International Law expert and Mr. Pranaya Goel, Advocate on Record and Partner, Wadia Ghandy. The experts interacted with the future law practitioners and gave inputs for their future preparation.
Dr. P. Lakshmi, Dean, School of Law and Mr. Abraham Joseph, Faculty Convenor, Moot Court Committee played a commendable role in proficiently organizing the competition. Student Convenors, Vineeth and Arjun along with numerous students were integral to the successful conduct of the competition.
The finals results were announced on 25th February by the experts committee . Symbiosis Law School, Pune proved its predominancy and won the International Moot Court Competition with a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 and Government Law College Mumbai became the runner up got a cash prize of Rs. 30,000 . The committee selected Vaibhav Tiwari of Symbiosis Law School, Pune as the Best Speaker-1 and Varsha Singh of School of Law, Christ University as the Best Speaker-2. Surprisingly, the Best Memorial Prize also was bagged by Symbiosis Law School, Pune. In the category of research, Arnav Bishnoi of RGNUL, Punjab proved its intellect in the field of law and achieved the Best Researcher award .
