GURUGRAM :  Remaining true to its vision, SGT University organised the public lecture on“Redefining Education” led by former President of India  Pranab Mukherjee andProf. Dinesh Singh, Former Vice Chancellor of University of Delhi.

Pranab Mukherjee, the main speaker for the evening emphasised on the need of redefining education as the need of the hour. With the changing times and shift in global equation, it’s througheducation that India can be ushered in golden age. He expressed his views on the current situationof Universities and institutions and how we need to created conducive atmosphere for bettereducation system. His believe in science, education, research and innovation are the four pillars onwhich the development as well as the work culture of a nation rests.

Delivery of the right educationon all level is the key as per former President of India. He remembered how first year of HisPresidency gave him aim – the aim to improve the quality by raising the education standard in ourcountry. He emphasised on evolving the indigenous system of education which is free from theoutside dictations.

 

Prof. Dinesh Singh, Former Vice Chancellor of University of Delhi started effortlessly with the actualsituation of education in India. He started it with coating the academic experience of Indianmathematical genius ‘Ramanujan’ and how he earned his Ph.D and since then the situation has notimproved much. He highlighted the importance of great knowledge economy and how India as anation directed the world for centuries. He also warned the audience that the danger of brain drainis just the tip of the ice berg and the Pandora’s Box is yet to be opened.

 

The dignitaries were felicitated and a prefatory was delivered by  Ram Bahadur Rai,Chancellor of SGT University. The event was illuminated by dignitaries including Prof. Najeeb Jung,Former Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Shri Manmohan Chawla, Managing Trustee of DashmeshEducational Charitable Trust (SGT University), Sachidanand Joshi, Secretary, Indira Gandhi Centre ofArt and Culture, and many renowned professors from different Universities and institutes. Theevent was concluded with a vote of thanks by PVC Prof. (Dr.) G.S. Tuteja.
