Gurugram, July 11 : IITD Alumni Association today launched “Sapling Plantation Drive in Delhi NCR” iMOS –Million Oxygen Suppliers at Antriksh Heights Sec 84 Gurugram to mark monsoon and the hill festival of “HARELA”.
Dr. Shiv Singh Rawat, an IITDelhi Alumni and Superintending Engineer irrigation & water Resources department Haryana at Gurugram, said that around 200 plants were planted today. The Association
has set a target to plant 3 Lakh fruit bearing trees in Delhi NCR (Gurgaon, Palwal and Faridabad).
The plantation activities are being coordinated by Dr Rawat and will be convened by Dr. Geetanjali Kaushik Treasurer IITDAA & Mr. Kalpen Shukla, President IITDAA.
Dr. Rawat told that the association has realized the importance of trees and oxygen when the country was struggling for oxygen during peak of 2nd Covid wave.
President Mr Kalpen Shukla and Secretary, Mr Rakesh Bansal of IITDAA expressed that
sapling plantation drive to Control air pollution and climate change are the need of the hour.
Dr Geetanjali Kaushik, Namrata and Satish from IIT Delhi, Osho Kalia and team Gurujal, Vikas Bhardwaj ‘The tree man’, Arun Yadav, Kirti Singh, Dalvir and Dr Tomar of RWA, Vandana Rawat, Ajay Singh, advocate Abhay Singh and residents of Antriksh Heights planted saplings to begin the plantation drive.
