10 Teams of  Men and Women Categories will Participate in two-day Tournament

Chandigarh, Dec 6 :  The 5th Panchkula District Volleyball Tournament organized by Panchkula District Volleyball Association begin today at Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex in Panchkula. The two-day tournament will see participation from 10 teams from across the district in men and women categories.

Six teams participating in men category include Government College, Kalka, SSD College, Kalka, Sports Club HMT Pinjore, JP Gurukul Pinjore, Sports Club, Panchkula and Maharana Pratap Club, Barwala. Four teams of women included Sarthak School Panchkula, Sports Complex Panchkula, Hindu Girls School Kalka and Kalka club.
President, District Volleyball Association, Panchkula, and Secretary, Housing Board, Haryana Randhir Singh inaugurated the tournament in the presence of Dronacharya Awardee,  Om Parkash, former Captain, Indian Volleyball team.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr Randhir Singh said that winner and runner-up teams in both men and women categories would be awarded with prize money of Rs5100 and Rs3100 respectively, besides trophies and certificates.  In addition, all the participants would be given track-suits.

Interacting with players, he said that such tournaments provide them with an opportunity to showcase their talent. We are working towards providing the right infrastructure and training facilities to the players.
Others present on this occasion included player of National Volleyball team, Subhash, Treasurer of Panchkula District Volleyball Association Mohinder Singh Sheoran, match referees’ Umesh Bhatt and Pardeep Vashisth, Women Volleyball coach Karuna Chauhan, social worker Jasbir Singh, Deepak and players of different teams.
