Gurugram :  “Guru Brahma Guru Vishnu Guru Devo Maheshwarah, Guru Sakshaat Param Brahma Tasmai Shri Guruwe Namah” This sounds good only to hear, but the truth will be there when justice is done to the gurus. Throughout his life, he takes his students to the heights and after retiring, he has to go to court to fight for his honor. The example of which can be seen in Gurgaon. The retired teacher has not received pension for the last three months. The pension from January to March has lapsed.

The teachers are facing non-payment of pension due to negligence of District Education Department. After 31st March 2021 this amount was returned back . Now in the new budget the pension amount will be approved. It will take extra time. If this amount could come on time, then income tax would also be paid on time. But this amount will come next year, so there will be problem in paying income tax as well. Income tax will come more due to arrears and it will take extra time in this process.

All this is happening in Gurgaon district. Who is responsible for this injustice ? Ramnivas Sharma, former president and well-known educationist of the Teachers Association of Gurgaon had retired from MLA Senior Secondary School Jatoli Helimandi on 30 April 2009. The case lasted about 10 years in the High Court. But till date the department has not implemented his pension in the right way. While he has also won this case in the court . Information has also been given to the Directorate of Senior Secondary Education through correspondence on 16 December 2019.

For pensioners of the Sixth Pay Commission pension was implemented from 1 August 2011 instead of 1 January 2006. Primarily ACP was given and again Withdrawn by the authority . Now this case is under consideration in the High Court of Punjab and Haryana. Head teachers were given revised pay scale of 7500-12000 instead of 6500-10500. Which was given in the government schools on 1 January 1996. But the matter related to added schools are still pending. It should be implemented with immediate effect. The equal pay for equal grade are being ignored deliberately .

The demand of the retired teachers is that the accountability of the officer should be fixed. There is no leave encashment either. DA in the Sixth Pay Commission what the Chief Minister has announced 164 percent is a welcome step. The department has already issued its order.

In Gurugram district, 142 percent is being paid, while in Bhiwani 154 percent is being paid. How can there be two rules in the same state. The orders of the Directorate of Education and the Government of Haryana are being disregarded. Gurgaon Development Forum spokesperson and educationist Ajay Sharma has demanded from the Chief Minister, Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar, Deputy Chief Minister, Dushyant Chautala, Home Minister Anil Vij, Education Minister Kanwarpal Singh Gurjar, and Director, Education Department, Haryana to solve the problems of all the teachers. He said that    the government would investigate this matter at high level.
