New Delhi :  Golden Victory Festival celebrations are being organized across the country to commemorate 50 years of India’s victory over Pakistan in the 1971 India-Pakistan war. As part of the celebrations, the Indian Army is organizing several events to showcase and highlight its contributions. Four Victory Torches have already been sent in four major directions that will be handed over from one formation to another.

The Indian Army is also organizing an online slogan writing competition from April 1 to May 31, 2021, which is running as part of the Golden Victory Festival. The competition is open to all citizens of India and entries can be sent to [email protected]. Details of the competition are available on the Indian Army’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter handles.

The chosen slogans will be used by the official media handle of the Indian Army and the winning entries will also be given a credit along with a cash prize. The slogan competition will be accompanied by several events and contests, details of which will be communicated later through the newspaper and social media. The contest is part of the Indian Army’s efforts to forge closer ties with its citizens and highlight the contribution of the Indian Armed Forces to the Indo-Pak war of 1971, which led to the liberation of Bangladesh.
