Both the institutions signed MoU for the training program
New Delhi :Â The Electronics Sector Skill Council of India (ESSCI), working under the Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, will now provide skill training to the youth in drone technology. For this, ESSC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IG Drones, a leading drone company in the country. According to ESSC, with the development of drone technology in the country, it has now become a billion-dollar industry.
The Union Civil Aviation Ministry has released the Drone Rules 2021 in July 2021. *With the introduction of the new policy for drones in the country, many industries including commercial entities, individuals, armed forces and government organizations are expected to accelerate further. Looking at the future prospects, on behalf of ESCI Acting Head Piyush Chakraborty and IG Drones Co-Founder and Director Om Prakash Das signed the MoU at ESCI Headquarters, New Delhi.
The objective of the MoU is to introduce B.Voc and B.Sc courses under the National Skill Qualification Framework in collaboration with various educational institutions and universities, as well as to set up Center of Excellence and Model Training Center. Apart from this, under the Apprenticeship Scheme, he has been trained as a train ground in the drone industry.
Shri Piyush Chakraborty, Acting Head, ESSC said that India will soon join the list of leading countries in the field of drone manufacturing and usage due to Drone Rules 2021 and UAV Traffic Management Policy. In such a situation, there is a need to train the youth for both job and self-employment. Now both ESSC and IG Drones will together try to develop the drone ecosystem in the country.
At the same time, Om Prakash Das, Co-Founder and Director, IG Drones said that the drone industry is developing rapidly in the country. This will require trained drone pilots with technical proficiency and skilled manpower required for maintenance. In line with its commitment to the Skill India Mission, IG Drones is contributing to this sector by effectively implementing safety, innovation, technological capability and flying regulations. He said that through the MoU, both the institutes will work for technological innovation and training. Due to which the number of quality drone trainees in the country will increase. Industry should get a skilled person and youth get employment in this sector.
